After nearly ten years in business, Box Legal has become one of the largest After The Event Insurance suppliers in the country, supplying over 15% of all ATE Insurance policies. We are now expanding further by offering Tribunal Fees Insurance policies. 

We say “Supplied by Solicitors…for Solicitors” because it’s true. All of our directors and management team are solicitors, and our key operational staff are either solicitors or have worked in solicitor firms for a number of years.

An initial background in Civil and Employment litigation led to a substantial change of tack in 1999 when our directors created a leading Central London personal injury department (“KSB Claims”) with a team of 85 people as a distinct brand within Kingsford Stacey Blackwell solicitors. Described by a Times banner headline as “The Law Firm of the Future” it focused on team working and customer care in ways which at that time were highly innovative.

Within 3 years, some of that team were beginning to explore a variety of legal expenses insurance options, and in 2004 they split away to form Box Legal, an insurance broker specialising solely in ATE legal expenses insurance policies.

It proved to be a period of intense demand for the right product, and with over 300,000 policies sold and a 15% market share, Box Legal is an acknowledged brand leader in its sector.

We now have well over 250 solicitor firms on our “ClaimSafe” personal injury panel and you can rest assured that our staff  have the confidence and expertise to deal with the legal aspects of employment claims and the complex Employment Tribunal procedures. 

Product development

We are always looking for opportunities to improve on existing products and develop new ones. We have recently entered the flight delay compensation market with FairPlane UK.

This is a relatively new type of claim in the UK and was created to assist passengers looking to make claims against airlines, following a flight delay of more than 3 hours. The new product provides passengers with the opportunity to make claims for flight delay compensation without the risk of incurring legal costs.
